PixleCircle is a community website created and operated by a private individual. It is not presented as a company, registered organisation or business service. These Terms apply to everyone who visits or uses the site.
Using the community

A public community site is generally outside the purely personal/household exemption, so the operator should treat themselves as the data controller for the purposes and means of processing member data.

What is collected
When someone registers or uses the community, PixleCircle may process: username, email address, password hash, optional location, date of birth when supplied, bio, avatar, forum posts, thread activity, reactions, profile and announcement comments, public chat messages, direct messages, reports, warnings, suspensions, bans and related moderation records. For security and abuse prevention, the site records registration IP address, last login IP address, last activity time and administrative action logs.
Why it is used and the legal basis
Account creation, authentication and member features: necessary for the contract or steps requested by the member (UK GDPR/EU GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
Security, moderation, abuse prevention and keeping the community usable: legitimate interests, balanced against members' rights (Article 6(1)(f)).
Optional profile information: provided by the member and used for the profile feature; ask for separate consent where consent is the appropriate basis.
Legal requests and required records: compliance with a legal obligation where one applies (Article 6(1)(c)).
PixleCircle currently does not use automated decision-making or behavioural profiling.
Who may receive data
Data is visible to the audience selected by the feature (for example, public profile/forum/chat content). Hosting, database, email or security providers may process data only to operate the service. Hosted and domain provided by https://fasthosts.co.uk
How long it is kept
While an account is active, account and community content is kept to provide the service. Security, moderation and legal records may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. There is currently no automatic account-retention schedule; set and publish exact review/deletion periods before launch. Deletion requests may be limited where retention is necessary for security, legal claims or a legal obligation.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable UK/EU rules and lawful basis, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact [dedicated privacy email address] and include the account username and the request. You may complain to the ICO if you are in the UK or to your local EU supervisory authority.
Cookies and similar technologies
The current site uses an essential PHP session cookie to keep a signed-in session secure. If a member selects “Remember me”, it also uses the first-party remember_token authentication cookie for up to 30 days. These cookies are used to provide a feature the member requested and are not used for advertising or analytics. The current code contains no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar or similar tracking service. If non-essential analytics, advertising, social pixels or other tracking are added later, stop them until the member gives valid prior consent and provide a way to change or withdraw that choice. UK PECR and the applicable EU ePrivacy cookie rules still require clear information about cookies, even where the strictly-necessary exemption removes the consent requirement.
Security and updates
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used, but no internet service is risk-free.
